After flipping on Lunch Counter Rapid in Alpine Canyon and getting separated from my boat the day before, we decided we needed something a little less stressful. This was our first time on the Hoback River, but we have been interested in running it for a while now. We were able to scout a good chunk of the river from the road, including Boulder Slalom (which looked a little intense.) So grateful to have met up with Keith and Violette at the put in (Granite Creek) who opted to run it with us as a group. The entire 13.5 miles was absolutely beautiful. At this flow, the river was technical enough to keep you on your toes and created some fun wave trains to keep it exciting. Boulder Slalom was a little spicy, but we all made it through unscathed. We took out at the confluence of the Snake River which made it a good few hour run. Definitely would recommend 10/10.
