Grape Creek is a rarely run Class V stretch that hardly ever has enough flow to be runnable. Even when it is runnable, it involves miles of easy Class III leading to a canyon studded with multiple sieves, undercuts, and blind portages. Expect manky whitewater and a fair number of portages. Scout well, since some runnable drops lead directly into unrunnable, or nearly unrunnable, drops. Some drops are vertical, but overall the whitewater quality is middling to poor. All of the significant whitewater is above the Temple Canyon Road bridge, which offers alternative river acces.
Put in: Bear Gulch off of the Grape Creek Access 4wd road.
Take out: Centennial Park or Temple Canyon
