Trip Reports
Log in to add a reportThe whole run is superb when run at good flows. Too little and the first mile or two get bad...
Bring your walking shoes and your 'A Game'-- you'll need both. Expect to do lots of scouting and portaging, especially if you don't have someone along who has done the run before. We ended up portaging several of the gorges in thier entirety. Just when the portaging has worn you down mentally and physically and you don't think you can take any more of it, the river because continuous class 3-4, and progressively gets steeper until it falls off Fantasy Falls (~35-40ft high angle and a 22ft vertical) From here, it's about a half days paddle out. Expect the trip to take 3 comfortable days, if you get an early start on Day 1 - Keep in mind the shuttle is really long (85 mi one way)
