River Description
Note: The combination of Steep banks and lots of deadfalls tend to clog the creek with wood from time to time, so keep look out.
Put in: Take Dixon Ridge Rd. west off of Hwy 21 about 1.5 miles north of Fallsville. This road is the same as the put-in road for the Hailstone run. About 2.5 miles down this road there is a small road turning to the right in the middle of a switchback which leads to the Dahl Memorial wilderness access. From the turnout at the end, bushwhack southeast about 1/2 mile to the creek. You're aiming for approximately elevation 1820 feet, where two tributaries merge.
Take out: Hwy 21 bridge over the Buffalo River at Boxley.
The run on Adkins Creek is about 2 miles, however, you must paddle 11+ miles of the Hailstone run (which will be at flood when Adkins is runnable) or hike out (which is not a good option).
See the description in the Ozark Whitewater Page.
