B) Horlick Dam to Quarry Park (0.2 - 0.6 mile)

Rather tight to river-left, immediately downstream of Lower Pipeline, some shoreline rubble deflects water across another 'dent' in the bedrock. At moderate flows (400-800 cfs) a smooth wave forms, which will allow surfs and occasional spins. There used to be a good shoreline eddy, but flooding (in 2008) rearranged things and that eddy is gone. Catching rides on this wave (when it exists) is by sliding over from the center of Lower Pipeline. Repeat play is possible if you come off in control and paddle aggressively back to the slackwater in center river. Otherwise (if you can't make that), drop just downstream for a ride on a small wave I call 'Gator' (visible background left-center) which is likely present at similar flows as Tundra.
