B) Horlick Dam to Quarry Park (0.2 - 0.6 mile)
Diagonal Slice, as seen from the highway bridge. The 'staging eddy' is off-frame to the right. Either run center and charge hard right to catch the eddy, or turn to upstream ferry to catch an upper wave which forms from about 600 to 1200 cfs, then drop into lower wave. Funky wrapping currents make for unusual surfs here, but you can practice front surfs, side surfs, spins, and occasionally more (but nothing vertical ... it is always shallow here).
