A scenic float trip with some mild rapids.
Difficulty rating and range of recommended flows taken from Texas Whitewater. Distances and gradient measured using GIS tools in 2015.

Pedernales Falls SP Swimming Area
Official put-in, accessible on river right via a 300-yard foot trail that leads from the swimming area parking lot.
Trammell's Crossing
Alternate put-in, accessible on river right via a 0.4-mile foot trail that connects to the state park camping loop.
FM 3228/Hamilton Pool Rd Low-Water Crossing (Hammett's Crossing)
Known hazard at some levels. Theoretically, this is an access point, but there is no parking anywhere around, and in recent years, boaters have been accosted by the Sheriff when attempting to use this crossing as a put-in or takeout. Recommend taking out at Reimers Ranch instead.
Milton Reimers Ranch Park
Parking/access at river right (day use fee required.) There is a large paved parking lot at the top of the hill, with a paved road that leads down to the river (you can park temporarily on that road while loading boats.)
