Salmon, North Fork

A few maps of the Idlewild Run and the Sawyers Bar River Access (take-out for the Idlewild Run and put-in for the Sawyers Bar Run on the North Fork Salmon River). This is the only public river access in the Sawyers Bar area. Most boaters end up trespassing in Sawyers Bar, partly because print and online guides present incorrect information about access.

Birthday run for me on this stunningly beautiful run today with Robin Levick, Ted Couch, and Sara Gallagher. Quite cold but overall a tamer run than I expected – pretty much a Class III paddle at this level.

Pourover ledge drop downstream of Whites Gulch confluence. High end of low flow / low end of medium flow.
