Trip Reports
Log in to add a reportPut in - old 412 bridge; Take out - McLoud Ford (6.8 miles) We rubbed in a few places, but not many. Still deep enough for kayaks at 1.8 and the river still has a decent flow, with only a few pools requiring paddling through. Also, War Eagle has deep holes so even when most of the river is knee deep or less, there are cold swimming/fishing holes.
1.8 miles down the creek from the 412 bridge in Huntsville the creek makes a hard turn to the left with a big bluff line and class I rapids. This area is commonly referred to as Schraeder Bend
