Portage: Weldon Falls.
Directions: from Bristol, NH, take Rte. 3A North toward Newfound Lake. Just before the lake, at a blinking traffic light, take a left onto West Shore Road, then fork left onto Fowler River Road. The first bridge crossing the Fowler is the takeout and gage bridge.
To putin: drive upstream on Fowler River Road to Brook Road. Take a left onto Brook Road and continue upstream crossing Brock Brook. Take a right onto Shen Valley Rd. and continue to a bridge over Clark Brook. This is the putin.
Alternate putin: river left below Weldon Falls. Off Fowler River Rd., take a right onto North River Road, and bang a left 0.5 miles past a cemetary. Walk up an old logging road to the putin.

Doesn't run much in the summer you might get lucky!
Ran this from the AMC lodge, 4/17/2011. Be careful boat scouting at the beggining of this run. A rapid you DEFINITELY don't want to boat scout looks invitingly boat scoutable shortly after the put in. Be very cautious of new strainers between here and Welton Falls.
