Trip Reports
Log in to add a reportI run this stretch quite often, though I put in at the Garfield Road Crossing since I live just down the street and have permission to put in by the neighbors. It's a nice easy run that I can hit at moments notice since I live so close to the river. If you are a novice kayaker I would recommend running this between 3.5ft and 4.25ft with the middle of that range being the most fun. There is a decent stretch of rapids after the 113 crossing and just before the Dean Hollow Bridge. These are probably the only two sections that would be considered a light class II on a consistent basis at these levels. Otherwise the river is mostly pools with small drops that would considered class I-I+ in nature.
