An 'improved' launch site has been created. I put 'improved' in quotes because (1) it is metal grate, which is not real boat-friendly, and (2) even more relevantly, it is so tall that it will be unusable at low-to-moderate flows, as you will be so far off the water, and dropping into very shallow water over bedrock.
I understand it was made this tall to accommodate high spring flows (hopefully without damage at ice-off and such). However, at lower flows, it appears it may be necessary to step down from it to attempt put-in from a cement ledge (or who-knows-what other accommodation).
