River Description
The first available take out is at a river left gravel bar that is below the confluence of the South Branch. Before the take-out the remains of the old Royal Glen Dam is easily skirted on far left.

Log in to add a reportRan this section to US 220 bridge in Petersburg on 9-4-21 at 4.9 on the gauge. It was low, but passable with a few portages. It was an ok level after the confluence with the south branch, but still some scraping in places. The river forks as you approach the confluence with the south branch coming from smoke hole canyon. The main flow to river right was full of strainers, so we opted to try the river left route. It was low but passable.

As of 2-28-04 there are two huge trees blocking your passage just above the confluence..portage on the right
