It had rained a few days and the Etowah guage was at 1,350cfs this was the perfect level. As levels goes, I think the very lowest would be 600cfs, mid to good 1,000cfs and from 1,350cfs and up the slides just get bigger and faster.
Trying to get a first decent on Lower Black Falls, first photo taken of anyone running it.
Black falls is on the Etowah River. See link Below

This is not on the section between Mille's Berry and Jay Bridge. There is a path on river left at mille's berry that can be followed - bring a hand saw and loppers as the trail is blocked at some points. This might not be accessable as it could be withint the boundries of the Ranger camp
BARGE QUEEN - River Section from Mille's Berry to Jay Bridge. within the first mile - there are no less then 5 deadfall that span bank to bank. with normal river levels these you will have to carry over or around. these are not going away. This section is quite with almost no housing alone the banks. Drops and pools. Found were two drops of no less then 2 foot and one nice slide that was about 4 foot. with low water this slide was not runnable, you had to drag the boat. This section will be great with class 2's with more water. This is about 5 miles. WATCH - several local dogs like to follow boaters - they are friendly and will swim with you, they might not leave you and can be returned to their owners that live on HighTower church - FS road area - Old Place.
Might this be the waterfall found just up the creek above 'Deep Hole' aka Elbow? Anyone else?
Anyone have any info on this? Waterfalls on Etowah..hard to believe.
