When interpreting the gauge reading, you may need to go to the gauge page and look at the graph. The gauge is located below Barton and Argo dams, whereas the stretch paddled is above them. The gauge reading can fluctuate widely based on the manipulation of the dams, and the level will not be reflective of the flow in the stretch paddled. If you look at the graph, you can see what the actual trend of the river is, vs. the short spikes or drops caused by a few hours of opening or closing at the dam.
