River Description
Stone Creek makes a nice alternate put-in for the Tallapoosa if it's running. It empties into the Tallapoosa just below the put-in for that run. If it's been raining enough for Stone to run, the Tallapoosa is probably running too. There is one good class 4 rapid right after the put-in with a couple of lines as well as an undercut and a log. There is a class 3 rapid following that and the rest is class 1-2. The stream bed is narrow though and the current is swift throughout the run. There may be several logs spanning the creek near water level. The run is scenic, with rock bluffs bordering the creek.
