This is boat able at any level. There is flatwater to practice rolls or if your playboating practice maneuvers. There are good eddy lines at most levels to practice stern squirts and cartwheels. Great beginner waves and holes from 3' above 4'. It is harder now to get to the upper rapid since barbwire has been put up on the trail. Now you have to paddle up which really isn't that hard. Great place to get a paddle and a beer in!

Interesting that the gauge calls this rapid lower runnable at 4.67. I ran it today at 4.9 and it was scooting strong and fast.

I checked out this spot just a few days ago and it was a nice place to play around. The top rapid was running good with runnable sections on both sides of the river. I checked with a employee of the bar across the bridge and got permission to park in the back of the building. He warned me that parking on the side of the road would get me towed, and that he has seen numerous cars get towed whithn 30mins. of parking there so beware.

The Greenville Newspaper recently ran a short article about this class II playspot on the Saluda river near Easley.
