River Description
Note: **Jan. 2009 ice storm deposited lots of wood in the creek, creek is currently most likely unrunnable.**The combination of Steep banks and lots of dead red oak trees (thanks to the borer beetle infestation) tend to clog the creek with wood from time to time, so keep look out.
Great Ozark steepie. Tight slots, slides, falls, trees, etc. Highlight is 'Paradise Falls'.
Gradient is for the ~2.6 miles on Boen Gulf. Must run the last 7.8 miles on the Hailstone section of the Buffalo River.
Put-in Go North on Hwy 21 for 3.5 miles from the intersection with Hwy 16 at Edwards Junction. Park on the left (West) side of the road at a turn out near a burmed old logging road. Work your way through the maze of old roads/trail and brush to the put-in. A GPS and a copy of Tim Ernst's guidebook on Arkansas Waterfalls makes this task much easier.
Take-out Hwy 21 bridge over the Buffalo at Boxley. From the put-in travel North on Hwy 21.
