River Description
This is a good place to go during the summer if you are stuck home and want to get in a quick work out. The remains of an old dam (circa middle 1800) forms a nice eddyline (at lower levels) that is good for cartwheels and squirting. You will have the best time to the river left side of a large concrete point that sticks out of the water. There is good eddy service on the left as well.
At higher levels (when the point is covered) a hole forms on the left side where the eddyline used to be. It is only mildy sticky and the sweet spot is small, so if you are going to throw ends you need a short boat and/or be quick. The eddy is harder to catch at this level so the best bet is to ferry to the right where there is calmer water, then jump back into the hole or into the eddy.
Directions to put in: Take I-275 to the Wards Corner Exit and go toward Miamiville. At the bottom to the hill take a right on rt 126. Go for only about 1/8th of a mile and Kelly Nature preserve will be in the left.
Directions to the take out: 1. You can walk up the bank at lower water and then paddle back up to your car, or
2. Take a left off of Wards Corner on to rt 126. Go 1/4 of a mile to the stop sign (there will be a pony keg on the right). Take a right and go for another 1/4 mile and park on the shoulder of the road past the bridge that crosses the Little Miami. You can take out under the bridge and walk back up to your car.

this run is really best above 6 ft. to 7.5 ft.
Did this run today from Lake Isabella to milford at 7.64 this was an awsome level,Kellys play spot was a decent hole at this level and there were plenty of standing waves to keep us amused on the rest of the run.
by Bryan Jones, also did solo trip from Kelly to Milford on Oct. 30 when level was around 7ft.. Tons of fun and the last part near Milford had lots of fun standing waves. I don't think I would go solo at any higher levels and it probably wasn't a great idea to do it by myself but at that level, there were still plenty of eddies and bypasses of tricky spots.
by Keith Oliver Beautiful day today - first 70F+ day of the year, Flow info. 6.04', paddled solo from Kelley Park to Milford and shuttled via the bike path - nice level lots of wind, but great workout! Total time about 3 hours. Too bad Rob and Tim weren't here to enjoy it!

this run is fun and it does have some play spots, but after the first rapids at the boat club it gets really flat for about 2 miles and then there are some ok playing spots
A fun day in the sun!
This is a good place to learn to cartwheel or refine your skills.
On this day John was demonstrating the cleanwheel.
