River Description
This is a great park and play spot! You can do anything here including cart wheels, spitwheels, blunts, etc.
The water comes out of 3 tunnels and is divided in half by a concrete wall. You want to play on the river left side. The right side can be nasty -- great paddlers have swam out of it.
Try to keep a low profile -- I have been harassed by the cops. It is best to park way down stream and paddle up to the dam. This is not very hard if you keep to the bank where the flow is very slow.
Note: You may also wish to visit Bernie's Hole, which lies about a mile downstream.

The dam tends to collect wood and this is why its a bad idea to plan to boat down into the play spot
The access at Huffman dam is, at this point, somewhat sketchy. If you do not know anyone who really knows the low down on where to park, how to act and how to respond if approached by the authorities, please make sure that you find someone who does know the real scoop before going. We would hate to lose this nice playspot due to inappropriate action here. We would like to keep this spot open for everyone to use...wisely. Im sure you understand.
Thanks.
