River Description
Beth Douglas and I (Will Reeves) ran this after about 2 inches of localized rain in August of 2005. The park ranger came by as we geared up to put in and asked for his $3 for the Park Access fee. He had no objections to boating the creek. Now if the river was suicidaly high perhaps his attitude would have been different but I did not get that impression.
We made the run without walking anything but I expect that with monster flows the bridges on the lower section are lethal strainers.
The biggest drop is the waterfall that is only a few yard downstream of the culvert at the Park entrance. We took two alternate route down the falls. Beth ran left and it was bump and scrape. I ran center and it was similar. The right line looked best but we did not notice this until we were at the bottom. The rest of the run was of little consequence.

Trip Reports
Log in to add a reportThere is a dangerous rapid at the far end of Victoria Bryant State Park. The Park has a road that crosses the river. The road and cemented boulders could create a strainer/smooth hole at high water. Also a dangerous low head dam is on the North Fork of the Broad above the takeout.
