River Description
This is basically an upstream extension of the more-popular Mountain View Road to Hendy Woods run. Easy put-in at the Fish Rock Road bridge. The creek is brushy in spots along the road, with good scenery as it progresses. Expect portages. Mysteriously brush disappears as the creek veers away from the road. Around mile 7.5, a class 3-4 rapid occurs, a sharp drop among rocks. Shortly afterwards rapids ease.

Log in to add a reportWith flows of 650 cfs (per Dreamflows estimates), Upper Rancheria had only two portages around trees across the river. Flows not pushy, giving enough times to stop and scout. Pretty run. There are more rapids and more redwoods in lower Rancheria, but I still felt this run was lovely.
330cfs @ DF. Beautiful water but I wasn't enjoying this paddle much with the brush and portages. Ended up just doing the top 4mi since I was solo.
