Trip Reports
Log in to add a reportThere is a wide log at the start of the mousetrap section blocking the river left side and is difficult to see at 5' as it's mostly submerged.
On the story behind Michaud's hole, Jim said that back in the day he used to paddle C-1 and was known at this point for not swimming. He got into the pour over on one run and was trying to get out, when the blade of his paddle snapped clean off the shaft. 'Now what am I going to do?' he thought. So he swam that day after equipment function.
Upper rapid
There's a new gauge, the Natchaug River at Marcy Road, which should provide a better indication of flow than the Mount Hope gauge does.
4' = minimum (@1.25' on the bridge gauge)
5.5' = medium high (@2.65' on the bridge gauge)
