River Description
The North Branch Winooski is one of the best Waterfall runs in Vermont. It is pool-drop, and has about 10 good-sized falls. There are a couple of other drops on this river, outside the normally run section also...
Takeout: Heading North on Rte. 12 from Montpelier, continue on past Wrightsville Reservoir. Keep going, and you'll cross the river a couple of times, and you'll eventually see the final fall, on your left. You can park in the large pull-off on the right.
Putin: From the Takeout, continue North on Rte. 12. About halfway up the run, the river passes beneath the road in a large culvert. Continue a mile or two, and then park up when you're near the river again and it flattens out.
Lat/longitude coordinates are reported by Patrick Rogers and Wayne Gman (Thanks!).
Other Nearby Runs:
The Gihon and North Branch Lamoille are similar class rivers nearby. Minister Brook and Hancock Brook are micro-creek sidestreams that have been run.
