River Description
Much of this run is quite visible from the road, so you can scout most of it as you drive upstream. Gradient is mostly quite consistent, though there appears to be a few areas in which some constriction of the streambed may cause increased concern.
It may be possible to add to this run by proceeding upstream to the end of the paved road. The river here is rather narrower, and may be subject to additional concerns. This section has approximately 120 feet of drop in approximately one mile of length.
Note: I have only 'car scouted' this run, at a time when it carried what would have been marginally boatable flow. Thus, all information here should be viewed accordingly. Anyone who has boated this stream or who otherwise has more familiarity with it is welcomed to provide more detail.

Trip Reports
Log in to add a reportRecord snow this year means plenty of water! Our group of two ran this from Bridge to Nowhere TH down to the road pullout about a half a mile upstream of the reservoir. We were in packrafts and most of it was splashy read and run class 2. I'm guessing we had around 200cfs.
Beware of wood! At least 3 mandatory portages around river-wide strainers. When we arrived morning of 3.8.23 SAR was there pulling a body out as a swimmer had gone into one of the logs. Eddy-hop and scout all the blind corners, not a lot of good eddies at that flow.
Most significat rapid was just above the first time the river goes under a concrete bridge that is the East Fork rd. Small waves and holes leading into a pinch blocked by a head-height log riverwide. Heads up!
If you continue on to the reservoir be warned there is a metal car bridge over the river that you wouldn't want to run, and not a lot of eddies upstream of it. Scout accordingly.
At this flow this run is class 2-3 with class 5 consequences.
