Nottoway

Although this page is about the massive falls below the dam, there is a milder fall line section of the Nottoway from cut bank rd bridge to the green church bridge that is also very interesting and longer -- however the experiences don't really compare. The fall line stretch makes an excellent kayak camping trip if you want to do an overnighter and the fishing is decent. Just get past the purdy boat ramp for more suitable banks to pitch a tent on. Out of the fall line and into the coastal plain, the banks get even more sandy if you want to keep on.
