Wells Branch, 1/4 mile below Piton Dam, a huge tree is creating a river-wide strainer with limited eddies above it. This is a known hazard at 1500 cfs and lower levels, and probably at higher levels as well. Mandatory portage! There are a few other trees that are hanging low over the water, but you can squeeze by them.
