Trip Reports
Log in to add a reportA section from FM1796-Hw90 is doable under similar near flood conditions. I had an uncle tube this section during a flood in the 80s. A bridge crosses the creek at 1796 and a vehicle can be left on the side of the road. Best place to avoid clashing with any land owners is to Park on the right side of the bridge when facing north. I personally own the land on this side of the bridge and the side of the road belongs to the state. You need to watch out for barb wire fences that are in the areas that are usually dry because the area is heavily ranched for cattle. There is a good run with a 4ft drop in the middle located upstream of the bridge on our property that I would be willing to allow access to if anyone is able to get in contact with me. The only thing I would charge you is that I accompany you on the trip and your car could be left inside of a closed gate instead of on the side of the road. A vehicle can be left near the rail road bridge close to the bridge for HW 90 for take out.
