Santiam, Little North

Since the Beachie Creek Fire in 2020 access to the Little North Santiam drainage including this classic opal creek run has been closed to the public. Due in part to closure orders by the USFS and in part to practical limitations of the bridge at Henline creek being destroyed in the fire. The USFS has completed planning and study for repairing Forest Road 2209 between Opal Creek Trailhead and Jawbone Flats to pre-fire condition. There is a ledge-wide log just over the lip of door 1 ledge at Thor's, unseen until committed. Door 2 is clean.
