Potlatch

When class gets cancelled, this is the spot.  The AW descriptions of put-in and take outs are perfect, there was no major hazards except a strainer on the bridge at the takeout.  This run is great for a solo adventure and a bike shuttle.  Don't expect a pipeline surf but if you love boating as much as I do, that shouldn't matter anyway.

Warning! there is a cable across the river downstream of Juliaetta. I wish I had a more accurate location, it's maybe half or two-thirds of the way between the town of Juliaetta and the Clearwater confluence. April 2022

The waves downstream from the Bear Creek confluence are stellar! We surfed there yesterday when the river was flowing at about 12'. The third wave in the chain is by far the best wave anywhere in the area. If the Potlatch is running 11' or more, it's worth the trip to Kendrick just for the surf session.
