Log in to add a reportFloated this stretch as part of a two-night trip from Alturas Lake Creek to Rough Creek down near Sunbeam. 07/24/20-07/26/20. I was in a 9' AIRE fishing cat and my buddy in a packraft. As expected the water was pretty skinny. We dragged boats a fair amount until down around Decker Flat a few miles below Hellroaring Creek. A few hot wires were strung over the river for cattle, but we passed below each without any problem. Just below Hellroaring Creek there's a fun set of drops at an irrigation diversion with a boulder garden not too far below. Class II. Two portages by the fish hatchery are signed and pretty straightforward. At this flow, for appx. 1.5 miles below Redfish Creek there was a lot of rock dodging and maneuvering to be done. It was a decent amount of work. Class II+/III-? Fun adventure boating, but not sure I'd do it again with such little water!
