7) Merced Falls to Snelling Diversion Dam
This is the only significant rapid on the reach. It is about halfway between Merced Falls and Snelling Diversion. Shortly after this rapid the current slows down and you will be paddling on the tailwater of Snelling Diversion. The rapid drops off to the left then gradually curves to the right. The current pushes up against the cliff and rocks on the left.
