Log in to add an alertAbout 1.5 miles down from the Eureka bridge there is a huge tree across the entire river. The water is swift here and there is a descent sized hole a couple of inches below the downed tree. If you or your boat floated into this mess it would not be good. The portage is on river left and some folks have cut up logs to make the portage easier. Be safe!
We ran this 6/16/22 and there are two hazards: 1 mile downstream from Eureka is a river wide beaver dam with a drop of ~5 feet. It was not runnable at 220 CFS. Shorty after that is an avy slide that deposited a dozen or more trees across the river (it is almost directly across from Minnie Gulch). At low flow these are both obvious and easy to avoid, however the land status for portaging is unknown and may well be private, so be cautious.
