River Description
'The Little Uchee is in Lee Co. The creek is a fall line whitewater run with a few good rapids. The water quality is mediocre and muddy when it's running. To my knowledge we have no gauge. I used the Mulberry River in Georgia as a gauge. If it was really high we continued on to the Little Uchee. Unfortunately few boaters know of the Mulberry so it's of no aid. The access is on state road right of way. The first rapid 'Satan's Garden' (at least that is what I think it was called) is a large river wide waterfall [known as Great Falls on the map]. There are lots of possible routes. Some are more painful than others. The other rapid that sticks in mind was 'Any which way you lose' and it was near the end. I recall some nasty pot holes in the drop. It's probably not that hard a run I haven't been down there since I moved to Clemson some years ago. I'd say class III maybe IV.' by Will Reeves

Log in to add a reportAfter having seen Little Uchee Creek running at 5500 cfs I think I can reasonably assert that the upper limit of boatability is around 4500 cfs
Submerged rock at the bottom of the drop is a bad pinning spot. Scout from the rocks below the first drop on river right.
Satan's Garden was fun & looks like you have a lot of different options. ... But downstream at 'Every which way you loose' - well the name sums it up, its just a hazard. There were nasty potholes on the left. On the right side there was a deadly strainer on 16 Jul 05. If that washed out the right side would probably be good.
This 'Satan's Garden' river right is a smooth slide/drop that puts you into a nice little eddie pool. ... Scout the 2nd rapid 'Every which way you loose' downstream though - there were nasty potholes on the left, and the right side would be good if it wasn't for a deadly strainer on 16 Jul 05.
