River Description

Flatwater.  Rarely paddled by whitewater boaters because there's little of interest in terms of rapids.  It needs to be stressed that the low head dam (Brookmont Dam) at the end of this run is very dangerous.  Paddlers MUST take-out above this Dam.

Take out before the dangerous low head dam at Little Falls.

Note: Taking out at Sycamore Island is no picnic. Use the rickety stairs across from the canoe club and carry up stairs and over canal. Then continue up the steep grade to the parking area. It took two of us and several rest stops. Better to end early at Lock 7 imo.
