River Description
Allagash Stream has approximately 3 miles of scenic flatwater/Class I from Allagash Lake to Little Round Pond. As the river leaves Little Round Pond it flows over Little Allagash Falls (IV+), which is generally portaged by canoe trippers on river left. Little Allagash Falls looks runnable....should you find yourself deep in the AWW with a creek boat and some friends with throw bags.
Below Little Allagash Falls are 3 Class II ledge drops and a large standing wave. Most of the Class II whitewater is concentrated into a mile between Little Allagash Falls and a bridge that crosses the stream. Below the bridge Allagash Stream flattens out down to Churchill Lake.
