Temperance River Campground (TRC)
This might actually make a better starting point, cutting off 1.35 miles of flat/flowing/tripping water (maybe a few riffles but no real rapids). We leave the section description as listed only for 'continuity' with the upstream listed section of this river, but parenthetically indicate mileage deduction distance to here.
Light Boulderbed Rapids
(0.35 down from TRC)
Island
(0.7 down from TRC)
A pretty fair sized island splits the flow almost evenly. Left may be slightly more water and ever so slightly shorter/preferable. (No rapids to either side.)
Light Boulderbed Rapids
(0.95 mile downstream from TRC)
Confluence, Pancake Creek
(3.1 miles downstream from TRC)
Pancake Creek enters from river-right, as the light boulder-bed rapids continue!
Island
(4.1 miles downstream from TRC)
The river takes a hard-right just as it encounters the head of an island. Boulderbed rapids continue, but diminish considerably not far downstream.
Take Out
Large Island
(5.25 miles downstream from TRC)
A few random relatively smaller islands precede this spot. As the river bears to the right, a very small channel (likely blocked by wood) splits to the left around a rather larger island. Scattered light rapids continue.
Six Mile Creek
(6.65 miles downstream from TRC)
Six Mile Creek enters from river-left, signaling that the take-out for this run is just downstream.
Trip Reports
Log in to add a reportVirtually the whole section of river is read&run fun, class II boogie . . . until you round a right-hand bend, and surprise! A short but sticky MF of a ledge awaits.
