Defunct Railroad Bridge
Description
Just downstream of CTH.F/Redford Boulevard, a defunct railroad bridge is likely to be impassible when flows are anywhere above moderate for this stretch. HIGHLY RECOMMEND SCOUTING THIS LOCATION BEFORE PUTTING ON. If this railroad bridge is impassable, it is recommended to just leave your 'drop' vehicle(s) at this point, to just take out here and walk to your vehicle(s). Immediately downstream of this bridge lies the confluence with the Fox River. In order to distinguish it from the Fox River which flows into and out of Lake Winnebago and down to Green Bay, many folks refer to this as the 'Illinois Fox' (since it flows into Illinois, eventually to its confluence with the Illinois River). The Kiwanis Club race (held each May, for 50 years as of 2024) continues downstream on the Fox to the Frame Park Rotary Building.
