These releases provide 250 cfs in the Class IV+ West Fork of the Tuckasegee below Lake Glenville. Paddlers hike in from the reservoir on a well established trail, put in below several large unrunnable waterfalls, and navigate several miles of Class IV+ whitewater. These releases were negotiated by American Whitewater and our affiliate paddling clubs in the early 2000’s, and are provided by Duke Energy as part of their federal dam license. Releases are from 10-4pm. Note that this run flows through private property, and paddlers should not exist the stream bed.
