The license to operate the Jackson Hydro Project on the Sultan River includes a provision to provide an average of three opportunities for whitewater boating per year. Scheduled events typically occur in the spring (typically April), summer (August), and early fall (September), and have a week’s advance notice. These high flows were designed as ecological process flows that provide ecological benefits to the river as well as a recreational opportunity.
