The Upper Clackamas Whitewater Festival began in 1984, founded by the Northwest Rafter’s Association, and became an independent nonprofit organization in 2013. Held at Carter Bridge on the Clackamas River, just outside Estacada, Oregon, the festival celebrates a full weekend of fun and exciting whitewater activities. The organization’s mission is to:
- Bring the river community together
- Promote river safety and education
- Provide an arena for friendly competition
- Break down barriers for new paddlers
- Foster river stewardship
Beyond these goals, the Upper Clackamas Whitewater Festival is all about gathering boaters for a rip-roaring good time—learning, challenging yourself, bonding, and sharing a great weekend on the river with fellow paddlers.
