2nd Annual Fundraiser for American Whitewater

Lotus Designs and Water Girl will be offering kayaking clinics at the American River Festival as a gift to the good folks at American Whitewater.  Anyone who is comfortable paddling down the S.F. of the American River (Chili Bar section) is encouraged to sign up for tips, tricks, and take-out party at the River Store in Coloma.

Registration is FREE to Members of American Whitewater! Or you can join AW when you call to register for the clinic.

There will be a $2.50 river permit fee that will be collected the morning of the clinic.

Donations to American Whitewater are greatly appreciated to help keep up their work of protecting and restoring whitewater rivers across the country.

To register for the Lotus Paddle Days, please call the American Whitewater Events office and ask for Ben: 828-252-0728 or email ben@amwhitewater.org. We will be offering clinics for anyone who would like to participate and are also offering a women’s only clinic for the ladies. Please specify which clinic you would like to do when you register with AW. Spaces for this unique event will go quickly so register now to avoid being disappointed!

The River Store in Coloma will be offering free boat demos to anyone participating in this event. Please arrange this prior to departure and have all your gear ready to go. For more information or to reserve a boat, please contact Landon at 530-626-3435 or info@theriverstore.com.

We will meet at Beyond Limits Rafting Company in Coloma at 9:00 and a shuttle will take us to the chili bar put-in. The river section will be a 4-hour paddle down the South Fork of the American River. A light lunch will be provided for you to bring with you on the river. We will take out at Beyond Limits and make our way over to The River Store for an après paddle party with food, beverages, and free schwag for all participants! There will also be a raffle to raise money for AW with prizes donated by Teva, Smith, Water Girl, and Lotus Designs.

Timeline:

9:00 AM            Meet at Beyond Limits Rafting Company with all your gear ready to go:

9:30 AM            Shuttle to put in at Chili Bar

10:00 AM          Put in on the SF of the American

2- 2:30 PM        Take off river at Beyond Limits

3- 3:30 PM        Arrive at The River Store for food, beverages, raffle,

                        and Schwag giveaways.

Directions to Beyond Limits:

Coming from Auburn on Hwy 49 to Coloma

Just before you get to the Hwy 49 bridge that crosses the American River- TURN RIGHT

(The post office, a bakery and pizza place are located here as well)

You’ll see 2 driveways- take the 1st one

Then you’ll see 3 raft companies- park here and Beyond Limits is the company in
