Professional WhitewaterKayaker’s Go Head-To-Head Against Local Experts in The First Ever Teva ExtremeWhitewater Games
Ashville, N.C.—On April 27th PerceptionKayaks will present the Teva Moose Extreme Whitewater Games on the Bottom MooseRiver in Old Forge, NY. The event isdesigned to showcase the unique paddling skills necessary to perform gymnasticmaneuvers down difficult Class V whitewater.
In its first year, the TevaMoose Extreme Freestyle promises to draw some of the finest boaters on theNortheast. World-renowned TeamPerception Extreme Kayaker Clay Wright is excited to participate saying, “The BottomMooses’ big drops, rapids, and slides draw boaters from the SE all the way upto NY year after year. This is reliable class 4-5 boating withexcellent access, scenery, and camaraderie. Can’t wait to see a freestyleevent on these famous big drops!”
This unique contest will be to an intense battlebetween fifteen professional paddlers and fifteen local experts. The Teva Extreme Whitewater Games are madeup of three separate events, freestyle off a waterfall at Agers Falls, ahead-to-head race from Shurform, and freestyle down Class V Crystal Falls.
Teva Extreme Whitewater Games competitors will havethe opportunity to gain points towards the Teva Whitewater NationalChampionships, to be held at the Olympic Whitewater Center on the Ocoee Riverin Ducktown, TN, October 10-13th.
The Teva Extreme Whitewater Games are part of thefirst ever “Creek Week” in Old Forge, NY. From April 25-28th, whitewater paddlers will converge uponOld Forge, NY for whitewater kayaking in the Adirondacks.
All athletes must pre-register with AmericanWhitewater between April 2nd through the 19th. Registration will take place online. No registrations will be accepted onsite.
Online registration is possible with a credit cardthrough Active.com. All proceedswill be donated to American Whitewater. The registration fee for this three part competition is $35.00.
