Dear Boaters (rafters and kayakers):
Jerry Meral is working with the Yolo County Flood Control and Water Conservation District, trying to convince them to regularly schedule releases from Indian Valley Dam down the North Fork of Cache Creek, so the winter "Eagle Run" on Cache Creek becomes more predictable. He is working with the Natural Heritage Institute as part of a study of conjunctive use of surface and groundwater on Cache Creek.
Please let him know the following:
1. What would be a reasonable release in the North Fork to get kayaks down to Cache Creek?
2. What would be a reasonable release to get rafts down to Cache Creek?
3. If you have run Cache Creek from Clear Lake down, what would a good release for this section be?
4. Have you run (or portaged) the Jams, a Class V rapid below Clear Lake?
5. How many times have you run down the North Fork of Cache Creek to Cache Creek, and then at least to the confluence of Bear Creek?
Any other useful boating information on Cache Creek would be appreciated.
Thanks.
Jerry Meral
