“Vote No on A!
It’s a $4 Billion Blank Check to Build Dams in Colorado”
Matt Bare, an AW member and former intern, has taken his passion for whitewater and is doing something to protect the rivers he loves. Now he wants Colorado residents to help him.
Specifically, Matt is opposing Colorado’s Referendum A, which is a referendum that is being mailed across the state in November.
This referendum proposes the construction of new dams. Pretty crazy concept huh? Just when the era of new dam construction was supposedly over in America, big money developers in Colorado have raised the ante again.
The race is close. However, America’s wild rivers have an ace up their sleave with passionate volunteers like Matt.
Matt is volunteering for www.VoteNoOnA.com and tells us that “the western slope, enviros, fishermen, and fiscal conservatives oppose it. But people are forgetting that this is also about wild rivers!”
Now Matt encourages Colorado boaters to get involved, mail in their ballots, offer volunteer help against the referendum by contacting the Colorado Whitewater Association or the Colorado Environmental Coalition, help provide extra reminders for voters, or even provide campaign donations to get out the word.
Please give him a hand.
