Each year at the AW Gauley Festival many memories are created, old friends are reunited, new friendships are forged, and many t-shirts are sold. At the end of the weekend most people have many memories to take home with them, few may not be able to remember anything at all, but one memento each person can take home with them is the official American Whitewater Gauley Festival T-shirt.
Now is your opportunity to see your creative work on the backs of so many dedicated boaters that attend the festival. Images, drawings, sketches, and concepts are being accepted for the design of the 2004 Gauley River Festival.
Images must be submitted by mail (AW 20 Battery Park Suite 302,
Here are a few things that need to be included in the design of the image:
- American Whitewater logo (unmodified) www.americanwhitewater.org/logo
- Year and name of the event
- Space for sponsor logos.
- River sport or festival theme
Design Contest Timeline:
- May 1st contest entries must be submitted to AW
- May 15th entries that meet the contest guidelines will be posted on the AW website for public viewing and voting
- June 15th voting ends
- July 1st contest results announced.

The fine print:
- Not all contest entries will be posted online
- Once submitted all designs become the property of American Whitewater for use as they deemed appropriate.
- All designs must be usable in a poster and t-shirt format.
- T-shirt designs are limited to three colors on one side of shirt and one color on the other side.
- American Whitewater staff and board reserve the right for a final decision in design choice.
