The Seventh Annual French Broad River Festival, a benefit for American Whitewater, will take place on May 7-9, 2004 in beautiful Hot Springs, North Carolina, just 45 minutes north of Asheville, at the Hot Springs Campground and Spa.   Come spend the weekend with family and friends listening to great regional music, shopping for new outdoor gear at the Silent Auction or with one of our many vendors, and watching or participating in either the Kayak Rolling Rodeo or the French Broad River Raft Race.

Friday’s musical guests include nasty, old time music with the Sons of Ralph and the southern grooves of Big City Sunrise, as well as The Has Beens.  On Saturday, music begins at 11 a.m. and goes through 12 midnight.  Acts include DJ Chris Challis, Patrick Bradshaw and the Holiday Ramblers, Sawbilly Rooster, Zion Project, Strut (Asheville’s Funkiest) and Fuzz, featuring former members of Deep Banana Blackout.   There will also be an acoustic stage featuring many of the regions finest singers and songwriters.

The French Broad River Festival could not take place without the generous contributions from our sponsors.  Sponsors include Watershed Waterproof Drybags and Luggage, Astral Buoyancy, Teva Sandals, Pyranha Kayaks, Aire, Smith Optics, Seventy Two DPI, Bomber Gear, Highland Brewing Company, Orosi Sunglasses, French Broad Brewing, Asheville Pizza Company, Shred Ready Helmets, Thrown Out Throwbags, Northwest River Supplies, Diamond Brand, Clavey River Supply, Bluff Mountain Outfitters, Red Bull, Huck Finn Adventures, Warren Wilson College, Five.Ten, Surf the Earth,  and RiverLink.  Many of these sponsors will have vending booths at the festival for demonstrations and selling their products.  Please come out and show your support of these great companies.  Check out the awesome products these folks have to offer!

Admission to the festival is $35.  This includes camping, music, registration fees for whitewater events (if you have your own boat), one raffle ticket, and good times.
