Every year around the second weekend in May, we go into storage, dust off the cobwebs from our camping and rafting gear, pack it all up, throw in the car and head on down to good ol’ West Virginia.

Why do you ask?

Well its River Rage season of course.  It is the time of year when we take Fayetteville, WV by storm and enjoy a weekend of camping, relaxing, and enjoying some of the finest whitewater that West Virginia has to offer.

We are following the same plan as last year, and that was teaming up with some extra sponsors, some former cast members of the hit TV show “Survivor”, and The United Way of Southeastern West Virginia.  This year we have added even more sponsors, even more celeb’s, and have added the very fine organization American Whitewater to the list of beneficiaries of the event.  With all proceeds from the weekend going to both charities, with the hopes of work done by American Whitewater to help keep access to The New River, and the many other great rivers of this land available to thrill seekers.

Here is what you get for the weekend:

  •  2 nights camping Fri & Sat
  • 1 day rafting on the middle/lower New River (Class III-V) in Fayetteville, WV
  • 2 dinners, 1 lunch, 2 breakfasts
  • Fri night party @ campground, beverages and prizes
  • Sat night party with live entertainment (TBA)
  • Reality show contestants from Survivor, Amazing Race, Big Brother, Bachelorette

All this, yes all this for the great price of $170.00*.  We have also struck a deal with the rafting company, for you paddling folks out there (kayakers) since you will not be using guides, boats and what not, your price is $100.00.  This trip fills up pretty quick once things get rolling, so its best to get your deposits in early to hold your spots.  Deposits should be in by April 3rd, with remainder pain in full by April 14th.

There are additional activities that are going on, but those however are not included in the base price and those include the following:

  • $8 Extra night camping/night (Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs nights) Must be paid upon arrival.
  • Wed Charity event in Charleston, WV @ Tomahawks
