2ND ANNUAL HEFF-FEST ON THE NOLICHUCKY RIVER

WHO Attention all paddlers, outdoor enthusiasts, music lovers and anyone who likes to have a good time.
WHAT The Appalachian Paddling Enthusiasts (APEs) invite everyone to come out to the banks of the beautiful Nolichucky River to celebrate a festival in memory of good friend and fellow paddler John Heffernan.
WHERE The festival will be held at Riverpark Campground near Erwin, TN and will run from noon until 10:30 PM. Traveling on I–26 towards Erwin, TN: Take Exit 18 off I-26 towards Old Jonesborough. Travel on Hwy 81 North for 5 miles. Riverpark Campground is on the right.
HOW Heff-Fest will be devoted to fun—in, on, and next to the river. Planned events include: paddling instruction by certified teachers; kayak, canoe, and rafting opportunities for paddlers of all levels; paddler’s flea market; silent auction; vendor booths; boat demos; boat raffle for a kayak of choice; fabulous food, T-shirts and souvenirs; live music; kids activities and games. For those interested in paddling the Nolichucky Gorge, shuttles will be available from Chestoa on Saturday for $5. Additionally, there will be a memorial paddle down the gorge in John’s honor on Sunday that will begin at the Poplar, NC put-in at 11:00AM. A portion of the proceeds from Heff-Fest will go to benefit American Whitewater. Become a part of this very special event.
COST $10 for adults, $5 for children 12 and under, children under 3 free; Camping is available on-site at Riverpark Campground first come, first serve for $5/night/person.
