American Whitewater is pleased to recognize Roland McNutt and Lisa Williams as the December 2010 Volunteers of the Month.
Over the years the Feather River Festival has been known by a number of different names, in the early days it was the Whitewater Round Up, later to become the Boating Bash at Belden. However, throughout this 20 year history there has been one constant, Roland McNutt. Year in and year out Roland has been up on the Feather, setting up gates for the slalom race, soliciting donations from sponsors and ensuring that a good time is had by all. In the last several years, Roland has been joined by his partner, and organizational dynamo, Lisa Williams. Together they have made the Feather River Festival arguably the best River Festival on the West Coast. The releases on the Feather are one of American Whitewater’s premiere early achievements in California. The feather River Festival gives us the opportunity, not only to highlight our work on the feather but our work throughout California and across the country. Our hats are off to Lisa and Roland for making this event happen and for doing it with a flair and style that is simply unmatched.
In recognition of their efforts, they will be receiving a custom OuterCore Long-Sleeve Shirt from Kokatat!
